FRAMOS has completed its new campus building in Čakovec, Croatia. The campus will increase FRAMOS’ production capacity and bring research & development, and administration closer together.
Improved and increased manufacturing capabilities and capacities, the greater proximity, with meeting and break rooms adapted to the needs of employees, on the one hand, and better digital networking with newly introduced collaboration tools, on the other, will enable more efficient communication. On this basis, customer needs will be addressed better and innovative solutions will be promoted. The improved collaboration between the individual departments and customers will enable customers to build innovative, intelligent embedded imaging systems.
The 3,500 square meter, climate-positive building was built and certified in accordance with the guidelines of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), which certifies sustainable, climate-friendly construction methods. One of the most important pillars in the energy design of the campus is the photovoltaic system, which will generate up to 285,000 kWh of clean energy per year. A total of 670 solar modules, each with an output of 405 watts, have been installed.
This makes the campus energy self-sufficient, with any surplus power being fed into the grid. In addition to the latest technical sustainability features, such as a smart, energy-saving climate conditioning concept, the campus offers many amenities, such as an adaptive lighting control system that regulates the lighting according to external requirements and for the benefit of employees. Local flora will be established on the site. Nature conservation measures such as an insect hotel are also planned. The campus will not only improve work conditions for employees and offer improved collaboration with customers, thus providing better conditions in terms of requirement fulfillment and quality, but also strengthen the local economy and fit seamlessly into the local ecosystem.
“We have reached a huge milestone with the completion of the campus. With this building, we will unleash the creativity and collaboration of our employees and will guarantee our customers that we will be able to respond even better to their needs and requirements in the future. The fact that we are doing this in a sustainable is a very important step for us”, says Andreas Franz, CEO of FRAMOS.
