VISION, the world’s leading trade fair for machine vision, opens on 8 October 2024 with a new exhibitor record. Around 500 exhibiting companies – the highest number ever – showcase their new developments and innovations to an international audience over three days.

“We are breaking another record with an increase of over 26 percent here compared to the previous event. In addition, the percentage of international exhibitor participation has risen to 68 percent”, says Florian Niethammer, Head of Exhibitions & Events at Messe Stuttgart. “We were also able to increase the exhibition space by 17 percent compared to VISION 2022”, adds Niethammer. One third of the exhibiting companies are making their début appearance. This is also a record that shows the huge potential of the machine vision industry. And finally the over 30 registered start-ups and industry newcomers are also setting a new record, thus indicating the level of innovativeness and range of applications the machine vision industry still has when it can incorporate so many new companies on the market.

Overview of technological industry trends – live, streamed and on-demand

Trade fair visitors can look forward to a comprehensive presentation programme on all three trade fair days. From synthetic data to 3D, Embedded Vision and Hyperspectral Imaging through to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning, all key trend topics of the machine vision industry are on the agenda of Industrial VISION Days and Scientific VISION Days. “With this programme VISION focuses on all important and current trends and developments and thus once again fulfils its role as an important driving force for the industry”, explains Niethammer.

“This year we are once again offering a livestream and a video-on-demand service of the presentations and would like to give all interested parties the opportunity to join in and participate in the knowledge transfer. In doing so, we increase the reach of VISION and offer potential users of machine vision, who cannot be there this year in person at VISION in Stuttgart, the opportunity to obtain information about the latest trends and innovations”, adds Niethammer.

The VISION award is a special highlight of the programme. The award for top technological performances in the area of machine vision will be selected from more than 60 entries and presented on 9 October from 11:00 to 12:00 on the forum stage.
