What the Q2 2026 SERP Data Reveals
The latest data from Vision Markets reveals which machine vision companies are winning the battle for Google visibility, and which emerging challengers are beginning to close the gap.
By Ronald Mueller
The battle for visibility in the machine vision industry continues to intensify, and the latest research from Vision Markets highlights just how competitive Google’s search results have become.
The newly released Q2 2026 Machine Vision SERP Report analyses Google’s organic rankings across some of the industry’s most commercially important search terms, including machine vision cameras, lenses, lighting, software and CoaXPress frame grabbers.
Rather than focusing on product performance, the report measures something equally valuable in today’s market: digital visibility.
For manufacturers, distributors and technology suppliers, strong search rankings increasingly influence lead generation, brand awareness and commercial success. The latest quarterly report shows several established leaders consolidating their positions, while a number of emerging companies begin to challenge long-standing market dominance.
This article is based on the Q2 2026 Machine Vision SERP Report published by Vision Markets. All research, rankings and analysis originate from Vision Markets. Readers can access the complete report for the full charts and monthly ranking data.
Basler Continues to Dominate Machine Vision Camera Searches
Among all categories analysed, machine vision cameras remain one of the most competitive.
According to Vision Markets’ Q2 analysis, Basler retained the number one organic ranking throughout April, May and June, reinforcing its position as the strongest digital brand within the sector.
While Basler remained firmly in control, the competition immediately behind became considerably more dynamic. Edmund Optics consistently occupied the second to fourth positions throughout the quarter, while Zebra Technologies maintained a strong presence near the top of the rankings.
One of the most notable performers was VA Imaging, which continued the momentum established earlier in the year by securing multiple top-five rankings. This suggests the company is steadily strengthening its online authority within a highly competitive search landscape.
The report also highlights an interesting appearance from Motion World, which briefly entered the top three during May before disappearing again. Whether this represents the beginning of a longer-term trend or simply a temporary ranking fluctuation remains to be seen in future reports.
Machine Vision Lenses See a New Market Leader
One of the biggest changes identified by Vision Markets concerns searches for machine vision lenses.
Machine Vision Direct has now established itself as the leading domain for this keyword category, consistently occupying either first or second position throughout the second quarter.
This represents a significant shift in a market that had historically been dominated by Edmund Optics. Although Edmund Optics continues to perform extremely well, the report suggests that Machine Vision Direct has successfully built enough authority to become the new benchmark for this particular search term.
Behind the two leaders, the competitive landscape remained relatively stable, with Opto Engineering, Thorlabs and Teledyne Vision Solutions maintaining strong visibility.
Meanwhile, VA Imaging continued its upward trajectory by climbing into the top six, while FJW Optical entered the rankings for the first time during June, giving analysts another company to watch over the coming months.
Lighting Searches Become Increasingly Competitive
Machine vision lighting has traditionally been led by Smart Vision Lights, but Q2 data suggests the gap is beginning to narrow.
Vision Markets observed Basler making significant gains despite lighting not being its primary business area. This illustrates the increasing strength of Basler’s overall domain authority across multiple machine vision product categories.
Advanced Illumination also recovered several positions after losing ground during previous quarters.
Perhaps the most impressive movement came from CCS, which jumped dramatically from tenth position in May to fourth by June. Such rapid movement demonstrates how competitive these search results have become and how quickly visibility can change with strong SEO performance.
Software Rankings Continue to Evolve
The machine vision software category remained largely dominated by Cognex throughout Q2, maintaining the leading position for almost the entire quarter.
However, several interesting developments emerged behind the market leader.
MVTec successfully recovered from a weaker Q1 performance and returned to the top three, while Basler temporarily lost some ground.
One particularly interesting observation from the report is the appearance of Gartner within the rankings. Unlike most domains featured in the study, Gartner is not a machine vision vendor but an independent technology analyst. Its strong domain authority enabled it to achieve impressive visibility for machine vision software searches despite not directly competing as a supplier.
Robovision continued to strengthen its position after first appearing earlier this year, while Hikrobot re-entered the rankings during June.
Allied Vision Challenges Euresys in CoaXPress Rankings
Perhaps the most significant story in the report concerns CoaXPress frame grabber searches.
Vision Markets notes that Allied Vision reached the number one position during June, overtaking long-time leader Euresys.
The shift follows the TKH Group’s decision to consolidate multiple vision brands under the Allied Vision website. As a result, the combined authority of the new domain appears to be strengthening Allied Vision’s organic visibility while simultaneously reducing the visibility previously held by Euresys.
Elsewhere within this category, Active Silicon experienced considerable ranking fluctuations, while Adimec returned to the top ten after nearly a year’s absence.
New appearances from Edmund Optics and Luster Inc. also suggest that competition within this specialist market segment is becoming increasingly diverse.
Why These Rankings Matter
Organic search has become one of the most important marketing channels within industrial B2B sectors.
Engineers, procurement specialists and OEMs increasingly begin supplier research through Google before engaging directly with manufacturers. As a result, companies appearing consistently within the top search results enjoy significant advantages in brand visibility, website traffic and lead generation.
The Vision Markets report demonstrates that SEO leadership is far from static. While several established brands continue to dominate, the latest data shows that well-executed digital marketing strategies can quickly reshape competitive positioning.
For marketing teams operating in the machine vision sector, these quarterly reports provide valuable benchmarking data against competitors while also highlighting emerging players gaining online visibility.
