WEG Scandinavia Expands Operations with New Office in Norway

Norway

WEG has announced a further expansion in Scandinavia with the opening of a new office in Bergen, Norway.

As part of the existing WEG Scandinavia branch, the Norway office will establish a greater presence in the region, aligning with WEG’s vision for long-term growth and development in Scandinavia.

With the new sales office located in central Bergen, WEG intends to provide comprehensive support and tailored industrial equipment solutions to Norwegian customers. With a focus on promoting, selling and providing a diverse range of products including motors, variable frequency inverters (VFDs), generators and gear motors, WEG’s investment in the new office aims to fulfil the evolving needs of the Norwegian industrial sector.

“We see great potential in the Norwegian market, particularly in segments such as the oil and gas industry,” says Anders Näzell, managing director at WEG Scandinavia. “As Norway increasingly focuses on meeting its national sustainability targets, there will be a need for the country to transition away from its traditional dependence on the oil and gas industry and decarbonise these operations.”

WEG’s own Carbon Neutral Program aims to lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 52 per cent by 2030 and attain net-zero emissions by 2050.

“As part of our commitment to sustainability, we want to establish a strong foothold in Norway to support the country in its transition. Our range of products, including electric motors, VFDs and generators, offer sustainable and energy-efficient ways to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.”

At the new facility, business development managers will oversee operations in Norway. Additionally, WEG plans to leverage existing partnerships with reputable organisations like Karsten Moholt to enhance its service capabilities across the country.

“We are dedicated to strengthening partnerships and collaborations with local companies to drive innovation and value for our customers,” added Näzell.

The expansion demonstrates WEG’s commitment to making substantial investments in Norway to ensure that it can provide comprehensive support and deliver more cost-effective, environmentally friendly and efficient technical solutions to the market.

Looking ahead, WEG anticipates further expansion and potential recruitment of technical sales engineers to support its growing operations.
