During our time at VISION 2024, we spent some time at Teledyne’s expansive booth. There, we were treated to several demonstrations from Teledyne representatives.
We spoke to Sadiq Panjwani, Teledyne FLIR‘s Vice President and General Manager, in the Integrated Imaging Solutions Division. He introduced us to SightBase, an online Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for selecting optimal machine vision components. Sightbase reduces the time and cost for customers, accelerating the design-in cycles for imaging systems. Sadiq explained that it can build a system in minutes, instead of the task taking several years to complete.
Sadiq then introduced us to Teledyne’s Bumblebee X 5GigE, a IP67 stereo vision solution with onboard processing for a range of industries. This product can process an image and understand a 3D point cloud as fast as a robotic arm, meaning it won’t be a limitation for robotic arms. It comes equipped with a powerful processing engine which allows application-specific programming and exceptional calibration retention.
