UVeye and JLR Launch AI Vehicle Inspections at US Seaports

UVeye, a global leader in AI-powered vehicle inspection technology, has announced a landmark partnership with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) North America to deploy its automated inspection systems at three major US seaports.

The installations, now live at Brunswick, Georgia; Baltimore, Maryland; and Port Hueneme, California, make JLR the first automaker in the United States to integrate fully automated AI inspections into its Customer Acceptance Line (CAL) process. Every imported vehicle will undergo a UVeye scan immediately upon arrival, ensuring quality control before reaching dealerships.

Raising the Bar for Port Inspections

Described as an “MRI for vehicles,” UVeye’s systems use computer vision and AI to detect imperfections as small as 20 millimeters, including dents, scratches, underbody damage, and rim defects. These automated inspections are time-stamped, standardized, and transparent, creating a digital record that follows each vehicle through its journey from ship to showroom.

For JLR, the integration is a strategic quality gateway, ensuring brand standards are upheld at the earliest stage of US distribution. By moving inspections upstream, the automaker gains:

• Consistency and trust – eliminating variation in manual checks while providing retailers and customers with full transparency
• Efficiency – faster throughput at port facilities, cutting bottlenecks in vehicle logistics
• Early defect detection – catching damage or imperfections during transit reduces disputes, rework, and delivery delays
• Data-driven insights – real-time inspection data feeds into broader supply chain operations, improving efficiency from ports to assembly lines

Setting a New Benchmark

“Together, UVeye and JLR are setting a new standard for vehicle logistics, utilizing AI to enhance quality assurance from the moment a vehicle enters the country,” said Amir Hever, CEO and Co-Founder of UVeye. “This is about more than efficient port processing; it is about building smarter, faster, and more consistent automotive logistics that benefit everyone from OEMs and dealerships to drivers.”

From Dealerships to Ports – Expanding UVeye’s Footprint

Until now, UVeye has been best known for its dealership deployments, where its technology powers real-time inspections in service lanes and sales departments at hundreds of US sites. By expanding to port operations, UVeye is creating a continuous inspection pipeline that spans the entire vehicle lifecycle:

Factory floor → Seaport → Dealership → Customer

This seamless visibility ensures that every stage of vehicle movement is digitally verified, raising standards for logistics, safety, and customer experience.

The Bigger Picture

The JLR partnership comes at a time when automation and digital transformation are accelerating across US seaports. With supply chains under increasing pressure, automakers are seeking technologies that can deliver speed, accuracy, and transparency without adding manual complexity.

UVeye’s success with JLR could serve as a blueprint for the industry as more OEMs and fleet operators look to integrate AI-powered inspections into their distribution and aftersales networks.
