The latest machine vision software is on display this week at Automate, as MVTec present their innovative AI solutions.
The German company are in attendance to exhibit several technologies which demonstrate how AI can be used for specific applications such as code reading, a vital task in many sectors, especially in factories which need to check items at high speeds
MVTec is presenting a solution which inspects electronic circuits for defects. The technology is capable of detecting faults and scratches. What makes this tool particularly special is that it can be esxecuted with unsupervised learning, meaning users don’t need images of actual defects as a reference.
They are also showing another deep learning application, which they refer to as Deep Counting. This technology is capable of counting objects regardless of their size. It can be trained to count any parts required and learns how to count and locate the items.
While in attendance, MVTec showed us their tool for code reading, which can be utilised in just about any industry. The technology can track objects, just as machinery parts or entire packages, making it especially useful in logistics. It can read code at exceptionally high speeds, and can track packages as they make their way from the factory to the customer.
Meanwhile, MVTec are also focusing on battery production and semiconductor manufacturing.
