With less than two weeks to go until Image Sensors Europe returns to London on 17–18 March 2026, momentum is building fast for its 20th anniversary edition. This year’s audience already includes confirmed senior representatives from major global technology leaders including Apple, Sony, Samsung, TSMC, onsemi and others underlining the strategic importance of the conversations taking place across the two days.

The conference opens with SESSION 1: MARKET TRENDS, chaired by Kazuko Nishimura of Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation, featuring “What in the heck is happening with image sensors product technology?” from TechInsights, “CMOS image sensors industry: new growth cycle” from Yole Group, and “The INs and OUTs of stitching” from Harvest Imaging.
SESSION 2: TECHNOLOGY BREAKTHROUGHS – BEYOND RGB, chaired by STMicroelectronics, explores low-cost SWIR technologies, nanophotonic colour splitting, and “Neural ISP for the small-pixel era,” before the afternoon turns to AI and machine vision with Meta Reality Labs, STMicroelectronics and Sony Semiconductor Solutions Europe.
Day one concludes with SESSION 3: CONNECTIVITY, PACKAGING, SUPPLY CHAIN, including “The MIPI A-PHY connectivity standard: the backbone for next-gen sensing,” “Large body molded image sensor package,” and a high-level panel discussion, “Ensuring supply and optimising cost of image sensor manufacturing,” bringing together GlobalFoundries, IMASENIC and UTAC Group. The evening drinks reception in central London provides a dedicated setting for candid discussion and strategic networking.
Day two opens with SESSION 4: AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS, covering “Towards an efficient and manufacturable 1.8µm colour router for automotive applications” from onsemi, alongside deep dives into IEEE 2020 and Revision 2 of the IEEE P2020 Working Group from OmniVision.
SESSION 5: INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS features a 100,000 fps gated RGB SPAD image sensor from Pi Imaging Technology, real-time camera simulation from Basler AG, and global-shutter innovations from Samsung Electronics.
In SESSION 6: SCIENTIFIC & DEFENCE APPLICATIONS, the European Southern Observatory outlines detector needs for astronomy and curved CMOS strategy, Gpixel presents “Quantum to cosmos,” and Pleora Technologies addresses real-time sensor-to-processing for defence applications. The programme closes with SESSION 7: THE QUANTUM DOT BUBBLE, asking whether quantum dots are “ready to burst?” with panellists from Quantum Science Ltd, Nanoco Technologies, QDI Systems and imec.
From market inflection points and manufacturability challenges to automotive standards, AI integration, defence systems and quantum dot viability, the agenda remains tightly aligned with the realities facing the image sensor industry today.
With final registrations now underway and the industry’s key players already confirmed in the room, Image Sensors Europe 2026 is set to be one of the most commercially significant editions to date. Beyond the technical programme, the event is known for the quality of its connections with nine dedicated networking opportunities across the two days, culminating in an evening drinks reception at a central London venue after day one. It’s where conversations continue long after the presentations end over a drink, face to face and where partnerships, collaborations, and future projects often begin.
