Teledyne Demonstrates Collaborative Technology at Automate 2024

Over the past week, Automate 2024 has played host to more than 800 exhibitors, and welcomed 35,000+ attendees. One of the biggest players in attendance was Teledyne who presented their all-new Bumblebee X camera.

The Bumblebee X camera with Spinnaker 3D is an industrial-grade stereo-vision solution, designed to build systems for warehouse automation, robots and logistics. It was showcased along with several other innovations, which they’ve collaborated on with other key machine vision and image processing giants.

Teledyne also displayed their Forge iP67, designed to perform in harsh industrial environments such as smart agriculture, food, and beverage applications. Teledyne are striving to provide customers with an entire ecosystem, as opposed to just supplying a component.

Manny Romero, Senior Product Manager at Teledyne Imaging, explained why:

“It is all about the ecosystem we’re trying to start, that’s why we have partnerships with other vendors on the floor. You can actually see those cameras and elements together to see how they work.”

Teledyne has collaborated with several key innovators, including Smart Vision Lights and Component Express. Manny explained that they are working with others to create an ecosystem which helps customers, as they often hear that customers are overwhelmed when looking for lighting and cabling to go with the standard camera setup.

Meanwhile, Teledyne also presented the Dragonfly, which is a compact, entry-level, USB3 camera. It is highly flexible, and can be dismantled to allow for varied mount positioning, making it flexible for targeting embedded systems.
