SICK Machine Vision present the Ruler3000 camera and Nova 3D software at VISION 2024

MVPro had the opportunity to stop by SICK Machine Vision at VISION 2024, we were fortunate enough to have Sofia Nilsson who is product manager at SICK present to us their demonstration. The demonstration was largely focused on introducing their latest innovations, developments and particularly their stand out Ruler3000 camera.

Sofia began talking us through the main highlight of the demo, which at mentioned above is the Ruler3000 camera. The reason that the camera is expected to be so exciting to the market is due to it having the capability to be one of the worlds fastest ever 3D streaming cameras which works with laser triangulation. The demonstration portrayed the camera’s technology working in real time on display, which also showed the camera providing 3D data in up to 46 kilowatts on a screen. Sofia explained that the camera can be used in many different industries, specifically being the electronic and automative industry.

Sofia proceeded to describe how in the past, the cameras with similar technology have been used by customers who posses a high skill set within creating their own programming. Later on in the demonstration, Sofia discussed another new form of software that can benefit customers that do not have programming skills, the advanced Nova 3D software will allow any and all customers that wish to use this the ability to create an application within merely a few minutes. Another form of new technological advancement that SICK has brought to market is the Ranger 3 highspeed colour camera, the camera is faster than the Ruler3000 as it can run up to 70 kilowatts. Sofia stated that not only is the camera faster, but it also perfects 3D data as well as colour data which is a further progression to previous cameras and competitors.
