MVPro spent some time at Photoneo’s booth during our time at VISION 2024, there, we met Marcel Svec of strategy and product. Marcel explained and demonstrated Photoneo’s very interesting presentation, focused on highlighting their latest automation software known as ‘MultiView Bin Picking’ including new robotics. Photoneo’s presentation also included their latest advanced camera technological developments.
Firstly, Marcel discussed how Photoneo’s latest developments operate. He stated that the multi-view bin picking technology operates by scanning objects from multiple perspectives making for a reliable solution for the most demanding bin-picking applications. Upon showing us how the technology works, Marcel then went on to discuss that Photoneo are using motion cam tech to actually under take vision guided picking and placing on and from the conveyor belt.
In the second part of the presentation, Marcel proceeds to explain Photoneo’s newest cameras enable the user to scan transparent and semi transparent objects. In the past it was a challenge and not achievable for any active illumination vision system to complete, which is why this new development is a huge success and could be seen as a revolutionary achievement. Further along in the presentation, Marcel moves onto show us the unique capabilities, motion and skills that the motion cam 3D possesses. The technology is able to capture objects on the robot without actually stopping it, which also makes this piece of tech and its advancements highly impressive and desirable due to its uniqueness and high quality.
Lastly during our presentation at Photoneo, Marcel highlights the ambition that the team are currently working on which is to integrate the data from multiple perspectives to create a full 3d model ideal for inspection or advanced robot guidance. Along with this, we were treated to seeing the final solution together with Industries for Depoliticisation, boxes run by AI software. The system is said to be the fastest during the VISION show which handles 1300 parcels per hour. The overall presentation was eye catching with a range of uniquely interesting robotics on display which certainly did the job of drawing the crowds in!
