MVTec Takes a Giant Step Forward in Expanding its International Footprint

MVTec Software GmbH, an international provider of machine vision software, is expanding its global presence. After opening a new sales office in the Benelux region in March of this year, the company has now added two more locations. On June 1, MVTec established a sales office on the Iberian Peninsula and a subsidiary in South Korea. The goal of this expansion is to strengthen local customer relationships and to serve dynamic markets more effectively through direct engagement by MVTec employees.

MVTec’s product portfolio includes MVTec HALCON, a comprehensive standard machine vision software package, and MVTec MERLIC, a low-code software that enables users to create complete, high-performance machine vision applications. Additionally, the Deep Learning Tool facilitates easy image labeling for the application of deep learning methods in HALCON and MERLIC.

Local support brings MVTec closer to its customers

“Following the launch of our sales office in the Benelux region, we are pleased to announce the opening of our new locations on the Iberian Peninsula and in South Korea,” “Including the new facilities, we now have eight international locations, in addition to our Munich headquarters. The success of our previous expansions supports our continued globalization strategy for the benefit of our customers. We see this rapid international expansion as a sign of resilience, especially in these economically challenging times.”

Martin Krumey, Vice President of Sales at MVTec Software GmbH

With MVTec’s local presence, customers receive support and services directly from the manufacturer. These services are provided by employees who speak the local language and understand the specific challenges and requirements of the local markets. This proximity, often in collaboration with local partners, allows MVTec to better understand and address dynamic markets.

Establishing a strong presence on the Iberian Peninsula and in South Korea

The new sales office for Spain and Portugal opened in Barcelona on June 1 of this year. The area surrounding the Catalonian capital is a hub for complex technologies, including automation and machine vision. The Iberian Peninsula is a significant market for MVTec due to the presence of many innovative system integrators and key industries such as food and beverage, and automotive. Both Spain and Portugal are among the fastest-growing economies in Europe.

On June 1, MVTec also opened a new subsidiary in Seongnam, in the South Korean province of Gyeonggi-do. This marks an important milestone for MVTec’s international expansion strategy concerning direct client business. Like the Iberian Peninsula, South Korea is an important market for MVTec due to its high level of industrialization and automation, particularly in sectors like semiconductor manufacturing, battery production, and consumer electronics. The new subsidiary allows for more targeted market access and adds value for local customers. MVTec will continue collaborating with its long-standing local partner, Teknix.
