MVTec Software Presents Benefits of Machine Vision in Battery Production at the Battery Show Europe

MVTec Quality Inspection

MVTec Software GmbH will be showcasing the added value of machine vision for battery production at the Battery Show Europe in Stuttgart from June 18 to 20, 2024.

At booth E09 in hall 6, visitors will get comprehensive information about the benefits and possible applications of MVTec’s software products. Large capacities are currently being built up in battery production. This ramp-up should be as efficient as possible. Therefore, quality, speed, functionality, adaptability, and scalability play an important role for battery manufacturers in their production.

Klaus Schrenker, Business Development Manager at MVTec, said:

“With our portfolio of high-performance machine vision software, our customers can master these challenges: On the one hand, with our software, they sustainably improve the quality of their production, while on the other hand they achieve great flexibility and can reduce the complexity of their processes.”

Software from MVTec: Wide range of applications and flexible usage options

In line with the trade fair theme “Next Level Quality Assurance”, MVTec will be demonstrating how battery producers, machinery and plant engineers, as well as system integrators can significantly improve the quality of battery production with the help of machine vision. In this sector, machine vision can perform a variety of tasks.

The most important include high speed defect inspection, measuring tasks, traceability – such as reading barcodes or data codes, vision guidance for robots, and alignment or positioning of the captured images, i.e., finding the relevant area in the image quickly and precisely. In addition to the benefits for the various application areas that machine vision offers as a technology, MVTec will also be highlighting the specific benefits of its product portfolio at its booth. One of these advantages is its hardware independence.

For customers, this means that MVTec software can be easily integrated into a wide variety of infrastructures thanks to numerous interfaces. At the same time, the software is easily scalable, allowing a smooth, budget-friendly transition from pilot line to full-scale production. Another benefit is the great flexibility offered by MVTec’s software products: they can be used with practically any industrial image acquisition device and run on almost any PC-based or embedded computing platform as well as in the cloud.

Finally, MVTec’s software features the latest machine vision technologies and offers an extensive range of functions. MVTec HALCON’s extensive toolbox includes numerous methods suitable for a wide range of applications, covering both rule-based and deep learning approaches.

“Our machine vision software is one of the most powerful on the market, making it ideal for demanding industries such as battery production. Leading cell manufacturers and machine builders in South Korea, China, and the USA, for example, already use our software, giving them the powerful, scalable, and hardware-independent tools they need to build efficient production lines,” says Klaus Schrenker.

MVTec: Over 25 years of expertise in machine vision

MVTec has been one of the global technology leaders in machine vision software since it was founded in 1996. The company offers three software products: MVTec HALCON is the comprehensive standard software for machine vision.

The software is extremely powerful and suitable for all machine vision applications. MVTec MERLIC is a no-code software that helps beginners in particular to create complete and high-performance machine vision applications.

Finally, the free Deep Learning Tool can be used to easily label images and thus optimally prepare them for the deep learning features of HALCON and MERLIC. MVTec’s software is used in almost every industry. Thanks to subsidiaries in the USA, China, France, and Taiwan as well as various partners in different markets, MVTec is close to its customers worldwide and can respond to their different requirements individually.
