Welcome to the final issue of MVPro Magazine for 2023! It has been an exciting year for the industry; we’ve been treated to many enthralling trade shows and conferences and seen some of the latest machine vision and image processing innovations. As you’ll see from this issue, the future looks bright!

This survey is designed to find out how many machine vision companies currently utilise this technology and give our readers the chance to discuss the challenges they face.
Next, we take an exclusive look into the rise of artificial intelligence in machine vision. While AI is often considered a recreational tool, its capabilities have changed the world of machine vision! In this piece, we hear from experts in the industry who explain how their companies use AI, discuss how AI has changed machine vision, and outline some of the downsides of using this technology. Hear from representatives at Baumer, deepsense.ai, Musashi AI, Photoneo, QualiSense, and Teledyne!
The manufacturing sector is currently facing many challenges. To combat this, Cambrian Robotics Limited have developed a fully AI-based solution for various robotics applications in manufacturing. The system is equipped with two cameras from IDS, which provide images of the object scene from different viewing angles.
Last month, the European Machine Vision Forum took place in Wageningen, Netherlands. More than 100 participants attended the forum, which featured several informative keynotes. We hear from Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Heizmann, Chairman of the European Machine Vision Forum, who discusses the success of this year’s event.
Lastly, a researcher from the University of Glasgow is developing a new piece of wearable technology, capable of measuring the progress of neuromuscular diseases! This will provide less painful and more accurate feedback on electrical activity inside patients’ muscles.
