At VISION 2024 last month, Midwest Optical Systems (MidOpt) presented its wide array of optical filters and components for machine vision use cases.
While at their booth, we caught up with Georgy Das, Midopt’s Director of Systems & Training, who guided us through some of the solutions they were presenting. Firstly, Georgy showed us Midopt’s SiLWIR Silicon Protective Windows, which can be used in thermal applications. They can withstand harsh environments and temperatures up to 200° C, and are cost-effective and readily available.
In addition to the SiLWIR Window, Midopt also demonstrated its new line of neutral density filters, which are grey in transmission, reducing light intensity equally over a specified wavelength range. They also have low reflectivity and good absorption, making them beneficial for high heat applications where there’s too much light.
Georgy then showed us the FK201 Machine Vision Filter Kit, featuring 10 of the most commonly recommended filter for ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared testing. It allows its users to test before investing in lighting hardware.
