Get ready to push the boundaries of machine vision with the new IDS NXT Oslo from IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH. This cutting-edge AI camera is more than just an upgrade it’s a bold leap forward in smart imaging technology.
Packed into a rugged, compact IP69K-rated housing, the Oslo is built to thrive in even the harshest environments; from factory floors to outdoor agricultural setups. It’s dustproof, waterproof, and ready for whatever your application throws at it.
At its core lies a powerhouse: an Ambarella chip, the same trusted tech behind the IDS NXT Malibu. This enables high-speed, high-resolution video streams at full 5 MP (H.264, MJPEG) and over 25 fps, delivered directly to your end device via RTSP protocol. No need for a separate PC – just plug in, stream, and analyse with real-time AI overlays.
And it doesn’t stop there. Thanks to its integrated Image Signal Processor (ISP) and a light-sensitive onsemi AR0521 sensor, the Oslo delivers crystal-clear images – automatically adjusting brightness, correcting lens distortion, and fine-tuning colours, even in tricky lighting.

“With the IDS NXT Oslo, we’re introducing a truly versatile AI camera that not only processes and analyses live footage in real time but also supports direct video streaming and recording,” says Patrick Schick, Product Owner 3D & Vision Software at IDS. “And with its ultra-durable build and M12 connectors, it’s made for tough industrial and agricultural use.”
Part of the comprehensive IDS NXT AI ecosystem, the Oslo comes with seamless software and hardware integration. Best of all? You don’t need deep learning expertise or programming skills to get started.
The IDS NXT Oslo is now in full production – and ready to bring intelligent vision to your toughest challenges.
