Happy New Year
Hello and welcome to this first issue of MV Pro for 2025. We are introducing a new team here and a new goal to bring Machine Vision news and insight to a bigger global audience.
The first announcement is that we are going to increase the number of issues we produce as well as making sure we are properly presenting the industry on both sides of the Atlantic.
So, looking into this issue. We start with Mark Williamson, our new European Editor at large, previously Chairman of the VDMA, and his review of 2024 and how this will play in to 2025. Then our new North American editor at large, Rachel Levy Sarfin looks at how Machine Vision is working in the United States of America with a particular angle on ITAR. I will bring you more about both our new editors later in the issue, along with the rest of the team.
Ronald Mueller of Vision Markets, then brings us his first in a series of features that we will be running in each issue throughout 2025. The first looks at the recent election and how Donald Trump 2.0 will play in to the machine vision world. This is a really interesting and well worth your time. Each issue we will be bringing a new piece from Ronald. All are not to be missed.
We of course include all the usual great articles and product reviews from around the industry.
I close out this issue with a look at some of the conferences that are coming up this year with the keynote speakers.
Finally, I want to introduce a new section that I am dedicating to early talent. If you are a student of machine vision or know someone who is, please send me an email and I will look to support you and get your paper published in future issues.
