EXCLUSIVE: Revealing the Plans for VISION 2024 at Messe Stuttgart

Florian Niethammer Messe Stuttgart VISION 2024

In this exclusive interview with MVPro Media for the latest issue of MVPro Magazine, Florian Niethammer, Head of Exhibitions and Events at Messe Stuttgart, reveals the early plans For VISION 2024.

The much-anticipated event will take place from the 8th-10th October 2024 at Messe Stuttgart. The global trade show will see more than 400 machine vision companies present their innovations, with thousands of visitors sure to be treated to another exciting event.

Florian joins us to discuss the plans for the event, as well as previewing their upcoming CEO Round Table event, which takes place on 17th April in the VIP Lounge at Messe Stuttgart.

Q: Do you have any news to share with our readers ahead of VISION 2024?

Signs for the upcoming VISION are very promising now already. The show will take place from the 8th to the 10th of October at Messe Stuttgart. We are expecting more than 400 exhibiting companies, including all the key players within the industry, as well as many newcomers and start-ups.

The show is growing again. We have already sold more space than we did in total for the 2022 show. So, if companies are planning to join the show but haven’t booked their place, I would tell them to be fast and contact us sooner rather than later. We still have nice options to participate, so don’t miss out!

Q: What specials are you offering for potential exhibitors this year?

We will once again organise the VISION Start-up World, especially for young innovators from all over the world. This has been a highly successful concept, ever since 2021. In 2024 we expect to welcome more than 20 start-ups, all of which will present their latest innovations in AI, deep learning, 3D, sensors, data storage or machine vision solutions.

We also offer a platform for IPC manufacturers with our IPC 4 VISION theme park, as well as the VISION Integration Area for system integrators and solution providers who offer turn-key solutions for end users on the show floor.

Q: What can you tell us about the framework programme for attendees so far?

We will again present the Industrial VISION Days, the world´s largest lecture forum for machine vision. Moreover, we will offer the Scientific VISION Days, which focuses on state-of-the-art research topics from universities and research institutes.

And of course, we will give the traditional VISION Award. This award honours the best innovation in the industry. The call for paper will be published by the middle of April, and everyone in the industry can apply with his innovation!

For the second time, we will offer exclusive Guided Tours for specific vertical markets to make it as easy as possible for new potential users of machine vision to discover their possibilities at the show.

Q: You are organising a press event with a round table this April, what is it about?

We are happy to bring the leaders of the machine vision industry together, along with the united press landscape. On the 17th of April 2024, we will discuss the current opportunities and challenges faced in the industry. Furthermore, we will provide a preview of the innovations and developments to be expected at the upcoming VISION show.

The panel will feature ASENTICS’ CEO and Managing Partner, Dr. Horst Heinol-Heikkinen, Basler’s Deputy Chairman and Board Member for Finance, Hardy Mehl, MVTec Software’s Managing Director Dr Olaf Munkelt, Teledyne’s Director of Business Development, Dr Martin Klenke, and Zebra Technologies’ Vice President and General Manager of Machine Vision, Donato Montanari. Meanwhile, Anne Wendel, Head of Machine Vision Department at VDMA Robotics + Automation will moderate the discussion.

Q: Looking back at the previous VISION show, what were your main highlights of VISION 2022?

The positive atmosphere at VISION 2022 was amazing. Back then, we celebrated the 30th edition of the show. My highlight for sure was that we brought together well-known faces from the industry in our band VISION United, and performed a few songs during our exhibitor night.

Q: What are your hopes for this year’s VISION show?

After two years since the last event, we are very much looking forward to welcoming the machine vision industry here in Stuttgart again. We can’t wait to bring the industry together from all over the world, along with their partners, plus their existing and new potential customers.

And of course, we want to show the potential of imaging and machine vision to as many new potential users as possible.

We at MVPro Media would like to thank Florian for taking part in this interview, and look forward to attending VISION in October!
