Epson Launches First Collaborative Robot with Integrated Vision at Automatica 2025

Epsom Robot

Smart, safe, and now truly perceptive – see it live, 24–27 June, Hall B5, Stand 311

Epson is redefining the future of human-machine interaction with the launch of its first industrial collaborative robot featuring integrated vision guidance. Debuting at Automatica 2025, this next-generation solution combines precision robotics with intelligent visual perception enabling safer, faster, and more adaptable automation in complex environments like manufacturing, logistics, and the life sciences.

The all-in-one package headlined by the Epson AX6-A901S 6-axis robot delivers seamless synergy between hardware and vision software. Epson’s proven Vision Guide system allows the robot to “see” its surroundings in real time, identifying parts, adjusting to variability, and performing intricate tasks with unprecedented accuracy. From inspecting microcomponents to guiding pick-and-place operations, this robot thinks with its eyes.

Volker Spanier, Head of Robotics at Epson Europe, explains:

“As automation needs evolve, vision isn’t just an add-on—it’s a necessity. Our collaborative robot is built from the ground up to interact visually and spatially with the world, ensuring safety and precision in environments where cleanliness, accuracy, and adaptability are critical.”

Next-Level Features You Can See in Action:

  • Integrated Vision System: Powered by Epson Vision Guide, the robot supports up to six cameras, enabling high-accuracy part detection, inspection, gauging, and even barcode reading.
  • Human-Safe Collaboration: Designed to work side by side with people, the AX6-A901S incorporates real-time sensing and clean-room compatible construction for use in sensitive sectors like pharmaceuticals.
  • Compact Power: With a 6 kg payload and 900 mm reach, the robot’s lightweight design and compact controller make it ideal for mobile platforms like AGVs and AMRs.
  • Flexible Deployment: Compatible with power sources from 100–230 VAC and 48 VDC, the system adapts to diverse environments and space constraints.
  • Python-Based Programming: Industry-standard Python support means developers and integrators can quickly customise workflows no specialised coding knowledge required

Whether identifying irregular parts on a conveyor or executing delicate laboratory tasks, Epson’s new collaborative robot marks a pivotal shift one where machines don’t just work, they perceive.

Sales begin autumn 2025.
