Chromasens Launches Versatile Multispectral Camera

Chromasens has expanded its allPIXA series of high-performance line-scan cameras with new 4k and 6k pixel resolution models featuring 10 GigE Vision or CoaXPress interfaces that will scan up to 300,000 lines per second (300 kHz).

Compact, versatile, and economically priced for maximum value, new allPIXA neo line-scan cameras help lower the cost of inspection for an ever-widening array of materials ranging from packaging and print, food, batteries, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and general machine vision including sorting processes.

Like other Chromasens allPIXA models, the newly released allPIXA neo cameras offer users a broad feature set; along with support for PoE or PoCXP power; frame and line trigger options including variable encoder input; DSNU and PRNU correction; continuous and automatic white balancing; plus a multi-flash function to achieve multiple image acquisitions in a single pass. There is a choice of camera models with pixel sizes of 7 µm with 4k or 5 µm with 6k for both interfaces to meet different detail requirements.

The camera’s available 10 GigE interface enables economic integration with off-the-shelf Ethernet components, whereas the CoaXPress versions take full advantage of a CXP-12 dual lane configuration to achieve scanning speeds up to 105 kHz in color and 300 kHz in monochrome with high image quality. The CMOS sensors also can capture up to 4 lines simultaneously for high-quality color images plus an additional mono or NIR image, opening up new opportunities for the accurate detection of defects in the visible and near-infrared range.

Along with their superior feature set, low-cost and high speed, allPIXA neo cameras offer the versatility to reduce overall system complexity. For instance, the cameras are compatible with M42, F-Mount, and TFL-Mount optical lenses, offer a configurable voltage range for input signals, and have the choice of either an 8-bit, 10-bit or 12-bit output to provide the best trade-off between image quality and speed. It also measures a very compact 62mm x 62mm x 62mm housing to install in space-restricted areas.

In total, Chromasens is offering ten different versions in its allPIXA neo family. Learn more at www.chromasens.com.
