Two colour versions with an additional Near Infrared (NIR) channel have been added to the Chromasens allPIXA neo series of industrial line-scan cameras, enabling machine vision systems to detect in both NIR and RGB wavelengths simultaneously.
As a result, vision systems can now identify an even wider range of defects on objects being inspected in continuous production flows, such as fruit and vegetables, solar wafers, and high-speed web paper and plastics, thanks to the camera’s enhanced sensitivity that goes beyond what is visible to the human eye.
Available in a choice of either 10 GigE Vision or CoaXPress interfaces, both allPIXA neo Color + NIR cameras leverage 6k pixel resolution CMOS sensors (6144 x 4 lines, 5 μm x 5 μm pixel size) with spectral sensitivity of 400 to 960 nm. The 10 GigE interface allows economic integration with off-the-shelf Ethernet components, whereas the CoaXPress version takes full advantage of a CXP-12 dual lane configuration to achieve scanning speeds up to 60 kHz in the quad-linear mode.
Along with convenient support for PoE or PoCXP power, both cameras provide easy-to-configure set-ups with multiple frame and line trigger options including variable encoder input. Rounding out the feature set are DSNU and PRNU correction, continuous and automatic white balancing, and a multi-flash function at yields multiple acquisitions in a single pass. The camera package includes Linux/Windows Chromasens GCT software for simple integration. The accompanying SDK facilitates quick implementation in complex industrial machine architecture via the GenICam standard.
