MVPro has sought to find out by getting the thoughts of various businesses in each sector via the quickfire five Q&A, which offers an insight into how each business views 2020 and what was the highlight of 2019.
Today…Marc Damhaut, CEO of Euresys
What will be the biggest trend in machine vision in 2020?
More 3D inspection. Better Deep Learning. And more camera/frame grabber bandwidth with CoaXPress 2.0.
What do you predict will be the biggest challenge in 2020?
Deep Learning is all over the place in the media and new products, but still has to prove reliable enough for machine vision applications such as semiconductor inspection and the electronic industry!
What are the company’s ambitions and plans for 2020?
Continue growing. After several years of accelerated growth, 2019 showed mixed results for many of us in the industry, but we expect a lot from 2020.
What industry event are you looking forward to attending in 2020 and why?
Mainly Vision 2020 in Stuttgart in November, but first Vision Shanghai and Automation World Korea in March, the Embedded Vision Summit in California in May and the Vision Show Boston in June.
Looking back over the past year, what have been the business’s highlights?
The continued rise of CoaXPress as the first camera interface standard for high-end applications. This is continuing with CoaXPress 2.0 (and CXP-12) products now available, and more coming in 2020!
