Why are you exhibiting at CRAV?
We attend CRAV to see the cutting-edge innovations and trends in the industry. It’s also a great place to introduce our new products, connect with our existing business partners and gain potential new business opportunities.
What are you exhibiting?
We are showcasing our full optical line, demonstrating the key features of a quality machine vision filter, and unveiling our new Backlight fluoreSHEET™.
Backlights provide sharp contrast to outline a shape, edges or an opening. But applications with space constraints may dictate backlight utilization. MidOpt introduces the backlight FluoreSHEET™ (BF590). When the FluoreSHEET™ is illuminated from the front with a blue LED light, it emits an orange fluorescence. A backlight effect can be created by using a MidOpt orange Bandpass Filter (BP590) to capture the orange emission and block the blue LED excitation, giving the appearance of a bright white diffuse background in a monochrome image.
We will also be showing our new line of oleophobic-coated Protection Windows, which are great for enclosures or outdoor applications within harsh environments. The oleophobic coating repels water and oils, making it easy to clean.
What do you hope to achieve?
We hope to introduce the MidOpt brand and our machine vision filters to those who are not currently familiar, show our new products and innovations to the market, connect with our existing customers and meet with potential new customers and help find the best filter solution for their application.
What are your thoughts about CRAV?
CRAV is in an intimate setting that allows us to meet and talk to numerous people in the industry. Being from the Midwest, we enjoy that the show is on the west coast because it gives us an opportunity to meet with our partners, customers and potential new customers in the area.
What elements of CRAV are you most looking forward to?
Similar to everyone in attendance at CRAV, MidOpt looks forward to collaborating with new friends and catching up with seasoned automation professionals. However, unlike most trade shows/conferences, CRAV represents a large concentration of companies and technologies that can be best described as ‘disruptive’. Robotics, MV and AI are being rapidly applied in new applications throughout all industries, and we are eager to better understand imaging needs of companies in this space to best support them with our filtering expertise.
CRAV is bringing together robotics, machine vision and artificial intelligence – how important is this connection and why?
At the heart of success in each of these areas is quality image acquisition. While robotics, MV and AI can each be stand-alone applications, often solutions are a combi of two or more of these technologies. Even the most robust vision software tools can be handicapped when starting with an unfiltered image. MidOpt is excited to participate in CRAV to promote the importance of image filtering and the high impact it has on overall application repeatability. The social networking aspect of CRAV is just as significant, in that it allows professionals from each of these segments an opportunity to collaborate, expand their application knowledge base and better understand industry challenges.
