During our time at VISION 2024, we visited the Pleora Technologies booth. There, we were introduced to their latest innovations for the embedded market.
James Falconer, Product Manager at Pleora Technologies, said that they were excited to announce their new flagship product, the eBUS SDK, due to their focus on the embedded space.
Pleora showed how their eBUS Edge product works in conjunction with STMicro’s microprocessing unit, converting any compute platform into a GigE vision-compliant transmit device.
James then presented their GigE Vision to Thunderbolt Adapter, a solution that solves a common problem with 10GigE Vision cameras. Pleora demonstrated this with two 10GigE cameras connected to their GigE Vision to Thunderbolt Adapter, which takes the ethernet packet data and directly copies it into memory on the host PC using PCIe over Thunderbolt.
Thunderbolts are advantageous, as they allow users to work on laptops and embedded device, instead of being solely reliant on a tower PC.
