EVK presents newest addition to EVK HELIOS hyperspectral cameraline

EVK HELIOS EC64_Prototype model - final design subject to change

EVK DI Kerschhaggl GmbH introduces EVK HELIOS EC64, a hyperspectral line scan camera with 640 pixel spatial resolution, for high speed industrial applications. The camera was demonstrated live at VISION 2024.

The EVK HELIOS EC64 is a hyperspectral imaging camera for industrial real-time operations that measures the chemical composition of objects – making the invisible visible. The camera operates in the wavelength range of 930 to 1700 nm and features 640 pixel spatial sensor resolution for enhanced object classification. In combination with EVK ALPHA edge computing platform and EVK SQALAR software, the EVK HELIOS EC64 offers an all-from-one-hand solution for qualitative and quantitative data analysis, application model development and realtime in-line operation.

Matthias Kerschhaggl, responsible for technology innovations at EVK, said:

“The EVK HELIOS EC64 sets new standards for hyperspectral imaging in industrial applications, especially when it comes to enhanced precision in object classification. The high scan rate of 700 Hz at full spectral range, the excellent signal-to-noise ratio and the high sensitivity at lower lighting situations are ideal for demanding industrial imaging solutions.”

EVK HELIOS hyperspectral cameras are designed for harsh industrial environments, featuring advanced thermal management. The powerful system of the EVK HELIOS EC64, EVK ALPHA image processing platform and EVK data analysis tools take on tasks such as classification of different polymers in complex plastic waste streams, elimination of foreign bodies in food processing or quantitative concentration analysis for continuous quality control.
