As the latest addition to the high-speed CoaXPress camera series, Mikrotron introduces the EoSens® 21CXP2.
Based on the CMOS sensor GSPRINT4521 from GPixel with global shutter, Mikrotron’s new EoSens® 21CXP2 combines a resolution of 21 megapixels with a pixel size of 4.5 µm, high sensitivity and outstanding image acquisition speed, enabling up to 230 fps when using all 5,120 x 4,096 pixels. By reducing the sensor area read out, an even faster image acquisition can be realized and, for example, a frame rate of 5,543 fps for images with 5,120 x 128 pixels can be achieved. The integrated CoaXPress 2.0 interface handles the large data volumes involved at 4x 12.5 Gbit/s without latency times, thus ensuring reliable and fast transfer of the captured monochrome or color images to the connected processing system.
The global shutter sensor used enables sharp imaging down to the smallest detail, even with moving objects. It is therefore the perfect choice for many industrial applications in which inspection parts are frequently moved past the image processing station on conveyor belts, in order to reliably detect even the smallest defects, even at high processing speeds.
Due to the large sensor, the EoSens® 21CXP2 represents an ideal imaging solution, especially for 3D laser profiling, and opens up high-speed laser triangulation systems with wide scan coverage for precise 3D measurements. The use of binning increases the camera’s signal-to-noise ratio, which lowers the required laser power and allows higher resolution to be achieved even with high image gain.
With the EoSens® 21CXP2, Mikrotron provides users with an outstanding camera option that enables very fast acquisition of high-quality, high-resolution images, bringing benefits in throughput and defect inspection. It can be used in a wide range of industries, such as the electronics and automotive industries, in the fields of motion analysis, life sciences and metrology, as well as in numerous other industries. Intelligent features such as switching between 1, 2 or 4 CoaXPress channels, various binning modes or a controllable fan contribute to the camera’s practicality, as do the compact dimensions of 80 x 80 x 72.8 mm and the robust metal housing, which enables easy system integration and withstands even harsh industrial environments.
